Description of the Project

This year Ascendance Rep undertook a tour visiting Yorkshire, North East and East Midlands regions. An 8 week rehearsal period was undertook to consolidate two existing pieces of work from the repertoire by Gary Clarke and Tom Roden plus a new commission, from internationally renowned choreographer Jan De Schynkel.

Touring Programme
During the CHAPS THEATRE TOUR 2006 Ascendance Rep visited 9 urban and rural venues where they presented the triple bill performance. 4 dancers performed the works, 3 of which trained regionally at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance.

Education Programme
Ascendance Rep delivered the education programme to groups of young people across the country, in particular within rural areas. The focus specifically targeted one group of young people: boys and young men aged 11 to 18.

Organisational development
An organisation development strand has run through the project to explore and define the company's core activities over the next 3 - 10 years. This part of the project is due for completion mid 2007.
