Introduction

Arts and Heritage projects can be used to encourage communities to get excited about their heritage and approach it in new and exciting ways.

This resource provides case studies of three major heritage projects: The Bingley Project, Yorkshire Churches and Castles which Ascendance Rep has undertaken with funding from Heritage Lottery Fund, Arts Council England, West Yorkshire Grants & Community Development Foundation.

The resource pack has been designed for community artists and teachers working with a range of ages, and provides ideas for working on intergenerational projects. The units take you through different types of stimuli with ideas on how to structure a workshop and create your own dance.

This site aims to collect and preserve local and national heritage, seen through a creative eye to enable them to be passed on to the next generation. If we want to preserve something, then it is our heritage.
