Ascendance Rep is a Leeds based contemporary dance company with a reputation for excellence in contemporary dance performance, site-specific work and education projects. The company tours across the UK, producing high quality dance / theatre works from regional, national and international choreographers.

We are seeking additional members for our board of management to help support the company as it embarks on a crucial next phase of work. We would also like to hear from those who might wish to contribute by acting as observers to the board.

We are particularly seeking people with skills in legal matters, dance, data protection, community health and cultural diversity. Skilled and committed individuals who would like to apply to play a key role in guiding and managing this innovative company should contact:

Ascendance Rep is committed to bringing contemporary dance to new audiences across the UK, presenting new works by leading choreographers together with an excellent education programme for young people.

Ascendance Rep relies on the support and generosity of its members, corporate sponsors and funders to continue bringing art of the very highest quality to its audiences.

Ascendance works to raise funds from a variety of sources, and in addition to an application lodged with Arts Council England, we are now seeking funds for specific areas of work. These are:

Photoshoots and filming: we like to keep a record of our work as it develops and we use promotional DVDs to advertise the company to new promoters.

Printed promotional Material, including full-colour flyers, posters and programmes which can bring the name and logo of a sponsor to thousands of people in venues throughout the UK.

Education programme involving 300 participants, which will introduce many people of all ages to dance for the first time.

Performances in 10 heritage sites, where sponsors can invite guests to attend a reception in their name.

Travel and Accommodation – always an issue for touring companies –  we are seeking support from businesses able to offer competitive rates.

Through tour sponsorship we will be actively promoting your company within the 10 regions we visit

You Can:

• Include your logo in the print publicity thereby guaranteeing extensive exposure for your company to thousands of people .
  
  100,000 professionally designed posters and flyers for the tour will be distributed across the country to arts ‘what's on' racks together with direct mailouts to target audiences, local arts venues, schools and colleges, tourist information points, libraries, galleries, theatres, cafes and bars etc…
  
  
• Gain advertising space with prominent links to your company web site on www.ascendance.org.uk which last year registered 3000 hits each month and seeks to increase to 5000 a month during the tour.
  
  
• Gain publicity exposure in local and national press as UK sponsors .

Press packs will be sent ut to all local and national press in each region. Ascendance has a successful track record of generating regional and national press coverage including major arts magazines; The Stage, The Guardian, Dancing Times and The Metro.

• Display promotional material at venue foyers with the opportunity to undertake a company presentation at the tour press launch.
  
  
• Distribute company publicity to 10000 participants and audiences.
